Annotations
The text bubble on every step. Headings, descriptions, AI pre-fill, placement, and per-step controls.
Annotations are the voice of your demo: a bubble on each step with an optional heading and a description, plus the Back and Next buttons your viewer uses to move through the walkthrough.
AI writes the first draft
The moment your recording uploads, AI drafts a heading and description for every step based on what was captured. They're intentionally a starting point:
- Text you write always replaces the AI text for that step.
- Steps you never touch keep their AI draft.
- Clearing your own text falls back to the AI draft again.
Skim every step before publishing. The AI is good at "what happened", but only you know the why that sells your product.
Editing the text
Two places, same result:
Double-click the bubble on the step itself. Edit the heading and description inline, exactly where viewers will read them, and click anywhere else to save.
Open the Annotation tool in the toolbar. The panel has fields for the heading and description, which is more comfortable for longer text.
Keep descriptions to a sentence or two. Viewers are clicking through, not reading a manual; the product on screen does most of the talking.
Placement
By default the bubble positions itself automatically: next to the hotspot, on the side with the most room, never covering the highlighted element and never hanging off the frame.
When you want control, the Annotation panel offers per-step overrides:

|---|---|
| Side | Pin the bubble to the left, right, top, or bottom of the hotspot instead of auto. |
| Nudge | Shift the bubble by pixels, horizontally and vertically, for fine placement. |
| Hide | Remove the bubble from this step entirely. Useful for steps that speak for themselves. |
Styling
Bubble shape, size, whether the arrow shows, and whether the step counter appears are demo-wide settings in the Annotation panel, so every step stays consistent. Brand color and font come from your branding settings.
