Frequently asked questions

Does Escourtly use cookies?

No. The viewer's random code lives in that browser tab's session storage and disappears when the tab closes. Nothing is saved as a cookie.

Do I need a cookie consent banner for it?

Escourtly sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses or personal data for views, so for most sites there's nothing to ask consent for. If you turn on lead capture, treat that form like any other sign-up form.

How are unique viewers counted?

Each view stores a one-way hash of a random tab code, the demo and the date. The same person on the same day counts once. On a new day they count as new.
