Storylane alternatives for small teams: prices, seats and limits

If you are one to three people and want HTML demos without a $500 step up, look at Escourtly, or compare Supademo's per creator price. If you will grow past five seats and want A/B testing and HubSpot, Storylane is likely still the better home.

Storylane is a solid tool, and its free plan (1 seat, 1 published demo) and Starter plan ($40 per seat per month billed annually; $50 on monthly billing) are fair for one person. Small teams run into two things. Starter adds $40 for each extra seat, so a team of three is about $120 a month billed annually. And the HTML demo editor only appears on Growth, which is $500 per month billed annually for 5 seats. For a three person team that is a big step. If that is where you are, the tools below handle small teams differently.

This page covers storylane alternatives for small teams, and Escourtly, my product, is on the list, so weigh my opinion accordingly. I put it first because this page is for small teams and solo founders, and that is who I built it for. Every price below comes from each company's own pricing page, checked on 14 October 2026, and I note where a competitor is the better pick.

Escourtly

Escourtly product screenshot

Best for: Solo founders and tiny teams who want live HTML demos for one flat price

Escourtly is a Chrome extension. You click through your product once and it captures the real HTML and CSS of every step, not a screenshot, so viewers can scroll, click and select text like they would in the live product. AI writes the step descriptions and you fix anything afterwards in a visual editor: hotspots, blur and redact, zoom, and drag to reorder.

There is one plan: the Founder Plan at $49 per month, billed monthly. It includes unlimited walkthroughs and steps, lead capture with CRM integrations, custom branding, custom domains, no login share links and embeds for sites like Webflow, Framer, WordPress, Shopify and React. This is an early price and it will not stay this way forever. We will raise it later and update this page when we do; the site says people who buy now keep the Founder Plan price.

Honest limit: There is no free plan listed on the site and no cheaper tier, so every other tool here starts lower at $0. The site does not list sandbox demos, branching, AI voiceovers or team seats, and Escourtly is newer than every competitor on this page.

Supademo

Supademo product screenshot

Best for: Small teams that want a free plan and per creator pricing

Supademo's free plan allows 1 creator, 5 guided demos and 50 video recordings. Scale is $38 per creator per month billed annually ($50 on monthly billing), so five creators is $190 a month billed annually, slightly under Storylane Starter's $200 for 5 seats at its $40 per seat price. That is a price comparison only; the two plans differ in features.

Guided HTML demos arrive on Business at $199 per month billed annually for 1 creator.

Honest limit: HTML demos start at $199, which is not much cheaper than Storylane's $500 once you have three or four people. Reviewers on G2 mention limited AI voiceover options.

Arcade

Arcade product screenshot

Best for: Teams that also publish videos and want branching and forms

Arcade's Growth plan is $42.50 per seat per month billed yearly ($50 on monthly billing) for up to 10 users, with branching, CTAs and forms, AI translations and MP4 and GIF exports. The free plan has 1 published demo and 1 published video.

Five seats on Growth is $212.50 a month billed yearly.

Honest limit: Roughly Storylane Starter pricing per seat, and credits limit AI videos to about 16 a month on Growth. I could not confirm which plan includes HTML capture.

Guideflow

Guideflow product screenshot

Best for: One person on a tight budget

Guideflow Solo is $35 per month billed yearly ($40 on monthly billing), with unlimited guideflows, lead forms and AI translation; each extra user is $35. A team of three is $105 a month billed yearly.

HTML capture starts on the Startup plan at $499 per month billed yearly.

Honest limit: Cheap, but HTML capture sits at $499 per month, about the same as Storylane Growth and Navattic Base at $500.

Navattic

Navattic product screenshot

Best for: Teams with a sales motion and a CRM

Navattic has a free Starter plan with 1 seat and 1 demo. Base is $500 per month billed annually for 5 seats and unlimited HTML demos, which is the same price as Storylane Growth. Growth is $1,000 per month.

It also mentions a startup plan for bootstrapped and seed stage teams of 30 or fewer; no price is published.

Honest limit: Not cheaper than Storylane at the paid level, and the free plan is 1 demo.

Where the price jumps on Storylane

Storylane's Starter plan is $40 per seat per month billed annually, which is $480 a year for one seat. The HTML demo editor starts on Growth at $500 per month billed annually, which is $6,000 a year for five seats.

Each extra Growth seat is $100 per month. Premium is $1,200 per month billed annually for ten seats. If you are one or two people, you pay for the seats you do not use at Growth.

What a year costs on each tool

Tool Cheapest paid plan, per year Entry plan with HTML capture, per year
Storylane $480 (Starter, 1 seat, billed annually) $6,000 (Growth, 5 seats, billed annually)
Escourtly $588 (Founder Plan, billed monthly, 12 x $49) $588 (the same plan)
Supademo $456 (Scale, 1 creator, billed annually) $2,388 (Business, 1 creator, billed annually)
Arcade $510 (Growth, 1 seat, billed yearly) Not confirmed. Arcade lists HTML capture but not which plan includes it
Guideflow $420 (Solo, billed yearly) $5,988 (Startup, billed yearly)
Navattic $6,000 (Base, 5 seats, billed annually) Not confirmed on its pricing page

Calculated from the prices in the pricing table: the monthly price shown, times 12. Escourtly is billed monthly; the others show annual billing, and their monthly billing costs more. Check the pricing table for those prices.

How to test a replacement before you move

Do not move off Storylane on a feature list alone. An afternoon of testing tells you more:

  • Pick the one flow you show most often and record it in each tool, on the same screen size.
  • Click every state in the result: hover effects, dropdowns, modals and tabs. Note which tool keeps them.
  • Look for real customer names and numbers on screen, and check that you can blur or edit them.
  • Embed the demo on a test page and open it on a phone. Note how fast it loads and whether it fits.
  • Send the link to someone who has not seen your product and watch where they hesitate.
  • Check what analytics you get and whether you can get leads out to your CRM.
  • Write down the price of the plan that includes everything on this list, not the entry price.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best Storylane alternatives for small teams?

For one to three people, Escourtly (flat $49 per month), Supademo (per creator, $38 billed annually) and Guideflow Solo ($35 billed yearly) are the cheapest routes. For five or more seats with growth plans, Storylane itself or Arcade's per seat plan make more sense.

Is there a free alternative to Storylane?

Supademo (5 demos), Arcade (1 demo and 1 video), Navattic (1 demo) and Guideflow (5 guideflows with a watermark) all have free plans. Storylane's own free plan allows 1 published demo.

How much does Storylane cost?

Free; Starter at $40 per seat per month billed annually ($50 monthly); Growth at $500 per month billed annually for 5 seats ($625 monthly); Premium at $1,200 per month billed annually for 10 seats ($1,500 monthly); and a custom Enterprise plan. Prices were checked on 14 October 2026.

Storylane vs Navattic: which is cheaper?

Storylane Starter at $40 per seat billed annually is far cheaper than Navattic's $500 per month Base. At the 5 seat level they are close: Storylane Growth is $500 per month billed annually and Navattic Base is $500 per month billed annually.

Storylane vs Supademo: which is better for a small team?

It depends on what you need. Supademo's Scale plan is $38 per creator billed annually against Storylane's $40 per seat, and Supademo has 5 free demos against Storylane's 1. Storylane puts the HTML editor on Growth at $500 and Supademo puts guided HTML demos on Business at $199.

Does Storylane have HTML capture?

Storylane's pricing page lists the HTML demo editor on the Growth plan. I did not check whether the Starter plan captures HTML in any form.
