Storylane and Supademo are two of the best-known tools for building interactive product demos, and their entry prices are close: $40 per seat a month for Storylane's Starter and $38 per creator for Supademo's Scale, both on annual billing. They diverge in what each plan includes. Supademo puts AI-assisted editing and guided HTML demos on lower plans. Storylane puts HTML demos, Demo Hubs and CRM-connected analytics higher up, with an intent-scoring system built in.

Capture
Storylane's Chrome extension records a demo as screenshots or as HTML. An HTML demo is a responsive HTML and CSS replica of the product, captured from one active tab at a time, and it needs Growth or higher. The docs say manual upload is not supported for HTML demos and video steps are only for screenshot demos. Mac and Windows desktop apps capture any application. Mobile works through iPhone Mirroring (macOS 15 and iOS 18 or later, unavailable in the EU), a wired connection, a mobile browser view or screenshot upload.
Supademo records either an HTML and CSS clone or a screenshot at each click. Guided HTML demos keep hover states, animations and clickable elements with editable text, and sandbox demos are front-end clones where viewers can click in any order. A Figma plugin, media uploads and screen-recording conversion round out the options, and mobile apps can be captured by mirroring to a desktop. Neither vendor's docs that I read describe limits for iframes, canvas or shadow DOM.
Editing
On HTML demos, Storylane lets you edit text, data and charts, blur, edit or delete personal data, use dynamic tokens and add effects such as typewriter text. Its docs describe guided demos with hotspots, tooltips, presenter videos and voiceovers. Its docs index also lists translations, chapters and AI demo creation, but I could not confirm branching from the pages I read.
Supademo's editor allows text edits on HTML demos, blur and smart masking, zoom and pan, callouts, hotspots and chapters. Branching and variables such as {{name}} are listed from Scale up. AI voices are described as 25+ languages in its editor FAQ, though another docs page lists a larger voice catalogue.
AI
Storylane meters AI through credits: 200 on Free, 1,000 on Starter, 10,000 on Growth (adding the AI HTML editor), 20,000 on Premium (adding AI translations) and unlimited on Enterprise. Its product updates added plain-language analytics questions on 22 October 2026.
Supademo's AI Command is a dashboard assistant on paid plans that rewrites step titles in bulk, with every content change needing your approval. Its MCP server connects Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and others to your demos. AI Demo Agents are a usage-based add-on, with credit packs from $99 for 1,400 credits and 1,500 free credits per workspace.
Sharing and leads
Storylane shares by link, embed, email and social, with Present and Conference modes. Lead capture is on every plan, with custom lead forms an add-on. A custom subdomain is available from Starter and a fully custom domain from Premium, set up through a CNAME and a request to support, with SSL typically issued within a day. Starter and above have unlimited published demos.
Supademo offers public, workspace-only, email-gated, password and SSO-gated links, expiring links, iframe, popup and in-app embeds, lead capture and surveys, and exports to MP4, GIF and PDF, plus SCORM 1.2 per its docs index. Viewers are unlimited on every plan.
Analytics and Demo Hubs
Storylane scores every session as high, medium or low intent from time spent, steps completed and CTA clicks, with no setup, and applies the same logic to demos and deals, using customisable thresholds. Account Reveal enrichment is capped at 250 a month on Starter, 2,500 on Growth and 10,000 on Premium. Demo Hubs work as digital sales rooms holding demos and other documents.
Supademo tracks viewer counts, completion, session duration, CTA clicks, drop-off and per-viewer sessions, at workspace and demo level. Its Showcase collections group demos, PDFs and booking links into one shareable page.
Integrations
Storylane lists HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Slack, Zapier, Pardot, Intercom, Google Analytics, Segment, Gong, Outreach and webhooks, among others. HubSpot and Zapier are on Starter, Growth lists more than ten integrations with deal intelligence, and the Salesforce integration and app are on Premium. Supademo lists HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Zapier, Marketo, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Seismic and webhooks, without stating plan requirements.
Teams and security
Storylane has Admin, Creator, Presenter and Viewer roles, with free viewer seats from Starter and presenter seats as an add-on. Extra seats cost $40 on Starter and $100 on Growth. Supademo bills per creator, with five view-only collaborators on Scale and unlimited on Business and above, and multiple workspaces on Enterprise.
Supademo states SOC 2 Type II, GDPR compliance, AES-256 encryption and that customer data does not train AI models. I could not confirm Storylane's SOC 2 status because its trust centre returned an error, so ask the vendor if you need it.
