Storylane and Guideflow start at similar prices, $40 per seat against $35 a month, but they split in different places. Guideflow puts HTML capture at about $499 a month and gives you ten members for it. Storylane puts its HTML demo editor at $500 a month and gives you five seats, but adds buyer-intent analytics and, on higher plans, Demo Hubs.
This comparison uses each vendor's pricing pages, product pages and documentation, read between 24 and 26 October 2026. Where the sources are silent or disagree, that is said plainly.
The short version
- Storylane is the better fit for a sales team that wants intent scoring on every session, account enrichment and CRM-connected analytics, and wants a clean, watermark-free free plan.
- Guideflow is the better fit if you want the lowest entry price, a five-demo free plan to experiment with, a mix of screenshot, video, HTML and sandbox capture, and more included seats at the HTML tier.

Capture
Storylane's Chrome extension records either screenshots or HTML. An HTML demo is a responsive HTML and CSS replica of your product, captured one active tab at a time, and requires Growth or higher. The docs say manual upload does not work for HTML demos, video steps are only for screenshot demos, and HTML demos are not available on the free plan. Mac and Windows desktop apps capture any screen or app. Mobile capture works through iPhone Mirroring (macOS 15 and iOS 18 or later, unavailable in the EU), a wired connection, a mobile browser view or a screenshot upload.
Guideflow documents three methods: screen capture (screenshots and videos), HTML capture and sandbox capture. Screen and HTML capture can be combined in a single guideflow. Its HTML capture grabs the HTML and CSS of each screen on every click, and offers a guided variant where calls to action steer the flow and a sandbox variant for free exploration. Its pricing page also lists multi-tab capture, a screen resizer and typing and scrolling animation. I could not find documented limits for screenshot, video or mobile capture.
Both docs are silent on how iframes, canvas elements and shadow DOM are handled, so test your own product before buying.
Editing
On Storylane's HTML demos you can edit text, data and charts, blur, edit or delete personal data, use dynamic tokens, add media and use effects such as typewriter text. Its docs index also lists pages for personalisation, chapters, translations and AI demo creation. AI is metered by credits that grow with the plan: 1,000 on Starter, 10,000 on Growth with the AI HTML editor, and 20,000 on Premium with AI translations.
Guideflow's pricing page lists blur for personal data, hide and blur for HTML elements, pan and zoom, hotspot, walkthrough and spotlight steps, find and replace, dynamic variables, presenter notes, resize and crop, and three levels of branching. Its docs index shows pages for steps, themes, call-to-action steps, pop-ups, checklists, video bubbles, version history, an HTML editor, tags and variables. Its AI page describes AI-written callouts, translation in 100+ languages, voiceover in 40+ languages, avatars and an assistant for editing. Several of these, including text, picture and graph editing and advanced branching, are listed from Startup upward.
Sharing and leads
Storylane shares by link, embed, email and social, with Present and Conference modes. Lead capture is listed on every plan, including Free, with custom lead forms as an add-on. Starter and above have unlimited published demos, and viewers are unlimited everywhere. A Presenter role can share demos and create links and hubs without being able to edit demos, which keeps sales reps out of the editor.
Guideflow offers a public link, an iframe embed, personalised share pages, custom links with UTM parameters, email invitations, social sharing, password protection, expiry dates and domain-based access. It exports to MP4, GIF and PDF, and offline demos are an Advanced feature. Lead forms are listed from Solo up. Its free plan carries a watermark, and its FAQ mentions removing it on a "Pro" plan that does not appear in the pricing table, so check the current rules.
Analytics
Storylane scores each session as high, medium or low intent from time spent, steps completed and CTA interactions, with no setup, and applies the same scoring to demos and deals. The thresholds can be customised by team, and intent decides the winner in A/B tests. Account Reveal enrichment is capped at 250 a month on Starter, 2,500 on Growth and 10,000 on Premium.
Guideflow tracks impressions, completion rate, leads collected and conversion. Its AI page says it recognises returning visitors and key personas and can enrich visitors with email, phone and company data. Its docs index lists general analytics, session analytics, export, filters and an AI Account Reveal feature, though I did not read those pages. The free plan keeps analytics for seven days.
Integrations
Storylane lists HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Slack, Zapier, Pardot, Intercom, Google Analytics, Segment, Gong, Outreach, webhooks and more. HubSpot and Zapier are on Starter, Growth adds more than ten integrations and deal intelligence, and the Salesforce integration and app are on Premium.
Guideflow's homepage claims more than 3,000 integrations. Its docs index has pages for Zapier, Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho, Marketo, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, OneTrust, Highspot, Outreach, Zendesk and Intercom. The only plan gate I could confirm is the Slack or Teams channel on Startup and up.
AI and MCP
Guideflow has an MCP server with 80 tools, including creating, publishing, exporting and pulling analytics, and each tool can be set to always allow, needs approval or blocked. Its pricing page lists the MCP under different tiers in different places, so confirm the tier before relying on it. Storylane's pricing mentions an Ask AI MCP from Starter, and its product updates added plain-language analytics questions on 22 October 2026.
Teams and security
Storylane has Admin, Creator, Presenter and Viewer roles, with free viewer seats from Starter. SSO is documented through WorkOS with SCIM through support and listed on Premium. Guideflow lists SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA alignment, a DPA, a 99.9% SLA, and SAML SSO on its Enterprise plan. One inconsistency: Guideflow's pricing table says the free plan has one member while its FAQ says up to three.
What it costs over a year
| Scenario | Storylane | Guideflow |
|---|---|---|
| One person, screenshot demos | Starter: $480 a year billed annually | Solo: $420 a year billed yearly |
| HTML, small team | Growth, 5 seats: $6,000 a year billed annually | Startup, 10 members: $5,988 a year billed yearly |
| Ten seats, HTML | Premium: $14,400 a year billed annually | Startup (10 members): $5,988 a year billed yearly |
Monthly billing costs more: Storylane Growth is $7,500 a year and Premium $18,000, while Guideflow Startup is $7,188.
Prices checked on each vendor's pricing page on 24 October 2026. Storylane's page does not label its two price sets; the 20% lower set is treated as annual. Guideflow lists its top tier under two names, Startup and Growth.
