Navattic vs Storylane: Two Sales-Led Demo Platforms, Compared in Depth

Navattic and Storylane list almost identical prices. Here is how their HTML capture, analytics, integrations, security and plan gating actually differ.

Iroro ChadereOctober 25, 2026

Navattic and Storylane are the two platforms most often shortlisted by teams that run interactive demos as part of a sales process. Their prices line up almost exactly, so the choice comes down to how each product is built, what sits on which plan, and how your team will work in it.

On annual billing, Navattic Base and Storylane Growth are both $500 a month for five seats, and Navattic Growth and Storylane Premium are both $1,200 a month for ten seats. This comparison uses each vendor's pricing pages, documentation and product pages, read between 24 and 26 October 2026. Where the sources are silent or disagree, that is noted.

The short version

  • Navattic treats HTML demos as the core product. Every paid plan includes unlimited HTML demos, and the marketing and sales tooling (A/B testing, account identification, pipeline impact, a dedicated customer success manager) comes with Base.
  • Storylane offers a ladder. You can start on Starter at $40 per seat with screenshot demos, move to Growth for HTML, and reach Demo Hubs and the Salesforce integration at Premium.

Capture: how each tool records your product

Navattic's web captures are interactive HTML copies of your app made through its Chrome extension, including scrolling and hover states. You can capture by clicking through the app or capture manually, and a first demo is recommended at 10 to 15 captures. Local, staging and logged-in pages can typically be captured, with a warning not to capture sensitive data. Native mobile and desktop apps use media captures (images, GIFs and video) instead of web captures. Recapturing creates a new version and re-matches your anchors. The docs I read did not describe how images, fonts and CSS are rewritten, or how iframes, canvas and shadow DOM are handled, so test those on your product.

Storylane records a demo as either screenshots or HTML. An HTML demo is a responsive HTML and CSS replica of the product, captured from one active tab at a time, and requires Growth or higher. The docs say manual upload is not supported for HTML demos and video steps cannot be added to them. Desktop apps for Mac and Windows capture any application, and mobile capture works through iPhone Mirroring (not available in the EU), a wired connection or screenshot upload.

Editing and personalisation

Navattic's capture editor offers text editing, Edit with Copilot, an advanced editor with find and replace across text, images or colours, Edit HTML, hide, blur (up to 30px, and the docs warn blur does not remove the content), background and scroll settings. A bulk editor changes several steps at once, such as converting beacons to triggers or modals to tooltips. Step types include modal, tooltip, form, embed and video, and interactive elements include beacons, input triggers, timer triggers, element triggers, voiceover, avatar, zoom and hover tooltips. Variables use a {{variable | fallback}} syntax inside the HTML editor. Translation covers 35 languages on Growth, written by AI per language, with capture translation reserved for Enterprise.

Storylane's HTML editor lets you edit text, data and charts, blur or delete personal data, and use dynamic tokens for content, guides and links. Its docs describe guided demos with hotspots, tooltips, presenter videos and voiceovers. Its pricing page lists AI translations at Premium and above, and its credit allowances rise from 1,000 on Starter to 10,000 on Growth and 20,000 on Premium.

AI

Navattic's Copilot generates titles, tooltip text and buttons from your captures, and it can read your product and GTM context from fields of up to 10,000 characters each. Base adds custom use cases, prompt and review features, premium AI voiceovers and 100 minutes of AI avatars, rising to 300 minutes and avatar cloning on Growth. Its MCP server uses OAuth for Claude and ChatGPT, or personal access tokens for editors such as Cursor and VS Code, with scopes for analytics, browsing, building and publishing. The docs say it is available on the Startup plan and above while the pricing page lists it on Base, so confirm the current tier. Navattic Agents is a separate conversational product that includes Base.

Storylane meters AI by credits and added a plain-language analytics question feature on 22 October 2026, according to its product updates page.

Sharing and embedding

Navattic documents three embed types: inline iframe, full-page and pop-up, with fixed, responsive and aspect-ratio sizing. An "AI visibility" option bakes a plain-text walkthrough into the embed, though it does not update when you republish. Custom domains work through a CNAME on Growth and above. Offline demos, which can be installed as a progressive web app, are Enterprise-only. Exports include PDF (up to 60 steps) and GIF or MP4 (up to 15 steps).

Storylane shares through link, embed, email, social and its Chrome extension, with Present and Conference modes. Lead capture is on every plan, with custom lead forms as an add-on.

Analytics and intent

Navattic's analytics cover unique and engaged visitors, engagement rate, identification rate, CTA clicks, time per session and step-level drop-off. Account identification, interest areas, advanced filters, pipeline impact and A/B testing are Base-plan features, and pipeline impact needs a connected Salesforce or HubSpot. Visitors can be identified through forms, query parameters or its JavaScript snippet, and a visitor CSV export is limited to the 10,000 most recent.

Storylane scores every session high, medium or low intent from time spent, steps completed and CTA interactions, with no setup, and applies the same logic to demos and deals. Account Reveal enrichment is capped monthly (250, 2,500 and 10,000 on Starter, Growth and Premium).

Integrations

Navattic's docs list HubSpot, Salesforce, Pardot, Marketo, ZoomInfo, Segment, Slack, email and webhooks, plus sales tools such as Gmail, Outlook, Outreach, Salesloft, Front, Highspot, Gong and Seismic in Launchpad workspaces. Storylane lists HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Slack, Zapier, Pardot, Intercom, Google Analytics, Segment, Gong, Outreach and webhooks from Starter, with the Salesforce integration and app on Premium.

Teams and security

Navattic's roles are Admin, Builder, Viewer and Launchpad Rep, and seats are 1, 5 and 10 on Starter, Base and Growth. Storylane has Admin, Creator, Presenter and Viewer roles, with free viewer seats from Starter. Navattic's security page lists TLS 1.3 or higher and encrypted storage, but the SOC 2 answer did not render, so confirm it with the vendor. Storylane's trust centre returned an error, so its SOC 2 status is also unconfirmed.

What it costs over a year

Seats Navattic Storylane
5 seats Base: $6,000 annual ($7,200 monthly) Growth: $6,000 annual ($7,500 monthly)
10 seats Growth: $14,400 annual ($16,800 monthly) Premium: $14,400 annual ($18,000 monthly)
1 seat, screenshots None below Base Starter: $480 annual ($600 monthly)

Navattic is cheaper on monthly billing at both team sizes. Storylane has the only cheap entry step.

Prices checked on each vendor's pricing page on 24 October 2026. Storylane's page does not label its two price sets; the 20% lower set is treated as annual.

Which should you choose?

  • Choose Navattic if HTML demos are the point, you want A/B testing and account identification from your first paid plan, and a $500 plan is already in budget.
  • Choose Storylane if you want a cheap start with screenshot demos before moving to HTML, or you expect to need Demo Hubs and the Salesforce app at Premium.
  • Ask both about SOC 2 before you sign, because neither status could be confirmed from public pages.
